If you’re looking for a good natural makeup remover – I have just the recipe for you. It’s made from plant oils, whole food that nourishes your skin and does the job of removing makeup, dirt and excess oils.

It’s simple. It takes minutes to make, and lasts for well over 6 months! But don’t underestimate its simplicity – I think it works better than most of what you can buy out there. It wipes away waterproof eyeliner, mascara – the works!

Now, normally, I’d snap a picture and give you the recipe. But this time I’ve done something completely different and I’ve posted a video on YouTube!

It’s been a long-time dream to produce videos for you – to express myself creatively in a different medium. To capture a natural lifestyle in motion – to share recipes, people and places that inspire me…

But I was scared...

So I stayed where I’m comfortable – behind the camera. I kept watching other people’s videos thinking, I wish I could do that, but it’s too hard. I’ll look silly. I can’t do it…

We all have that voice that tells us we can’t do something. Especially the big, scary things we want to do. What a drag!

There comes a point when the idea of putting off the things that you want in life, becomes harder, scarier and more uncomfortable than the fears that hold you back from trying.

That’s when you say, screw it! I’m not going to make excuses or decisions based on fear. I have a vision for my life – and even if it doesn’t work out the way I expect –  I’ll be the better for trying!

It’s not easy to do it alone. That’s why I’m grateful for the people around me – like Liv Lo and Rani who worked with me to make the video and made me feel like, You know what? I can do this.

If there is something that you want in life, you must surround yourself with people who will lift you up, who will support you and push you further than you think you’re capable – so you can do the things that you want for yourself.

If living a connected, natural, conscious life draws you in – I’m here to tell you that you can do it. The hard part is not trying.

It reminds me of a quote that I read from Gandhi, where he said “Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.”

Creating a life that matches your values, your vision – it takes time and energy.  You have to stretch yourself, work at it and be willing to make mistakes… But we wouldn’t want it any other way. Because on the other side, is an incredible sense of fulfilment.

Natural beauty has a ripple effect that changes your skin, your health, the people around you, our planet and the animals that we share it with. It’s filled with self-love and confidence – when you wear natural beauty, you feel different. You feel empowered, connected and beautiful.

I have no doubt that my journey of natural beauty led me to doing the big, scary beautiful things that I do today.

I’m driven to share this with you. This recipe is more than just a makeup remover. Every time you use it, you’ll remember what you’re about – what matters to you. And I’m telling you – that has a sneaky way of changing the way you feel and what you do.

Whew! That was a big intro! I guess I just wanted you to know where I’m coming from, and what this video really means.

I hope you enjoy it!

Militza

  1. Great video. I have the same the problem with the camera. I’m sooo nervous and I avoid it. But Maybe I should try it out.
And the recipe is amazing. I’ve been using an oil makeup remover with almond oil and coconut oil and it works perfectly for me. But I would definitely try this out.
    Waiting for more ideas.

    • Hi Sibel! Please do go for it, before the year ends – make it happen! 🙂 Almond and coconut is such a great blend. It’s fun to play with new oils, let me know what you think!

  6. I really enjoyed your video. You have inspired me to not let fear keep me from moving forward and doing something that I know I should do.

    • High five Priscilla! Go make it happen! Here’s what helped me: every single morning, before you start the day – visualize yourself doing this thing you want, see yourself living it and then decide one thing that you can do today to move you in that direction. Go get it!

  7. Hi Militza, I love this makeup remover and the special essential oil, skin 01, from Abundant Earth (love!). Although I love the way my skin feels after using it, I seem to be breaking out. Can you recommend a way to remove a bit more of the oil or another solution to my problem? Thank you!

    • Hi Christina!! So glad to hear that you’re loving the SIMPLIFY Skin 01 Blend!! Alina is such a genius at what she does 🙂 You can do a double wash, in fact in Korea this is a big trend – where you first remove makeup, dirt and buildup with the oil cleanser. Then you go in for a second cleanse, to remove excess oil, using a very simple, natural and gentle soap. You get the nourishing oils, with it being too heavy on your skin, acting as an occlusive that coats your pores.

But what I do, is that I use my toner as a second cleanse. I teach the recipes in my SIMPLIFY Skin Course, but you want to find something that is gentle, with natural AHA acids that help to break up and remove any residue on the skin. No matter how clean my skin is, when I use my toner and a cotton pad, I find that I always pick up a little oil and dirt and my pores stay unblocked!

Focus on clay masks as well, once a week to deep cleanse your skin and pores. These tips are what I’ve noticed works for me! 🙂

  8. Thank you so much, Militza!! I’ll try those suggestions. By the way, I made the simple clay, coconut milk powder and brown sugar mask and absolutely love it! Deep cleaning while hydrating at the same time. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

  9. Makeup Remover. Where do I buy the Eden organic Safflower=0 n Jojoba oil=2 n the essential oil brand. I have a dry n matured skin. Also it’s good to mention the comedogenic ratings. Thank u

  10. Bavani – if you’re in Singapore you can order the Eden Organic Safflower oil from iHerb:
    http://iherb.com/Eden-Foods-Organic-Safflower-Oil-Unrefined-16-fl-oz-473-ml/36444?rcode=CPF766

I don’t see the Eden Organic brand for jojoba oil, but there are lots of alternatives:
    http://iherb.com/search?kw=jojoba+oil&rcode=CPF766

Shipping to Singapore with iHerb is very inexpensive ($4?) and you get $10 your first order if you’re new to shopping with them.
