Last weekend we discovered an edible garden planted right in the heart of the city!

A team of eco-conscious friends planted the Edible Gardens at Archifest 2012 to champion the “Grow Your Own Food” movement. The garden is open until Oct 31st and you can actively be part of this movement by joining the Edible Community Garden meet-up (Nov 2nd) to discuss setting up a permanent, centrally located community garden! Wouldn’t that be amazing!

There is so much to see, smell and discover! Just beside the garden, is the cutest café, made almost entirely of old crates, where you can look out at the plants, play on the swing and eat giant slices of freshly baked cakes…

It makes for a great day out! Check out the Edible “Garden City” Project to learn more and to join the meet-up. And, if you’re inspired to grow your own food at home, share some pictures with us on Facebook!

Check out the café too – Fabulous Baker Boy
